Big Heroin Stash Seized In Little Car At Border | |
| 07-10-2008 2:02 AM (Tucson, AZ) -- Forty-seven pounds of heroin, a vehicle, and a Mexican citizen are in custody today after being discovered yesterday at the Nogales port of entry. At about 1:15 p.m. Monday, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer noticed the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta seemed nervous, which led further questioning and subsequent inspection of the vehicle. As a result, officers found 47-pounds of heroin in 24 packages hidden in compartments in the rear area of the car. The vehicle and drugs were seized, and the driver was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials. | |
