I can't believe it's been ten days since I posted anything here. It's been a busy ten days for me, but it doesn't seem like it's been that long since I wrote. My partner and I went to see our favorite band, the Cure, in Phoenix on the 4th, and that took up some time, since we ended up staying in a hotel up there overnight. We just hate that long, boring drive between Tucson and Phoenix, so we stayed in a nice hotel within walking distance of the theater and just took things easy.
After a nice breakfast in Phoenix the next day, we stopped at an animal shelter on the way home to pick up a little foster puppy to take care of for one of the animal rescue groups I help out, and has she been a chore! She's an American Hairless Terrier -- which is basically a hairless Rat Terrier -- and she's cute as a button, and busy as a bee!. Marina would have loved this dog! She was crazy about hairless dogs because a friend of hers (also her dance teacher) had two Mexican Hairless dogs that Marina took care of whenever her friend went out of town. She would house sit at Kathryn's and enjoy listening to music and spending time with the dogs.
Which all brings me back to how much of an impact Marina has always had on my life, in so many ways. It's because of her that I learned to love the Cure -- she knew I would like them, and she kept hammering at me to listen to them and watch their videos, and we finally both went to a show with some friends and I got hooked on the Cure. And because of that, I ended up meeting my partner, also a Cure fan, a few years later. And we have been together for nine years now.
AND, in part because Marina loved these crazy nekkid dogs, I ended up adopting one -- just by a strange, unplanned fluke of a situation, and a little dog who needed a home -- and we fell in love with the little thing. Of course Marina loved Luna, too. But Luna had a chronic illness and died last year of kidney failure, and after we got over the shock, we realized we had to have another little hairless dog. So now we have Evie, another Mexican Hairless, and we are fostering Dixie until the right home comes along for her. Marina would have loved it all, and been right here in the middle of them.

Hi SL,you got to be kidding about those ugly little dogs! How funny. Every time it snuggles, you will think of Marina.
Thanks for your comment about sheriff Joe.Treating the mentally ill & the addicted worse than dogs in America is a shame on all of us.He keeps getting elected,so it must be what the majority want.
I've decided to help in any way I can, one lost soul at a time.
I went to court today for Andrew's sentencing, but no one informed me it had been adjurned to next week. You know who I saw getting jail time today-the poor, the uneducated, the addicted, the ones with the court appointed attorneys. How sad.
I hope those ugly,uh I mean, unusual dogs keep you busy & your spirits up.
Im a closet Cure nerd.
